The WKBG works with Folly Wildlife Rescue to source suitable sites for the annual release of one or more groups of badger cubs. The sites need to be no more than 20 miles from Folly (TN3 9LU):

The main requirements are:

• • Must be on private land.
  • No active badger setts nearby.
  • Must have the opportunity for support feeding to take place for a period of up to a month after the release, either by the landowner or by WKBG/Folly personnel.
  • Must allow the placing of a temporary sleeping box for the badgers.
  • Must have water available.
  • Ideally, not close to main roads.

Any site would need to be inspected by Folly personnel before a release is agreed and scheduled. The release would usually take place in late August / early September.
