The WKBG hosted its second WAW event at Otford on 18th October. Once again, it was a wonderful celebration of nature and wildlife and we were delighted to have 9 other environmental and wildlife charities joining us. Each one had a stall with nature related merchandise and information plus activities for children.

Throughout the morning, we were treated to a series of fascinating talks from some of the participating groups; Brian from the RSPB spoke about Feeding Birds in your Garden, Andrea from CPRE talked about the need to help wildlife through encouraging ‘Dark Skies’. Jessica from Folly and WKBG entertained us with news of the badgers rescued in the spring and looked after at Folly; Rachel talked about the work of the Fox Project: David Carey gave a fascinating talk about the work of the Tree and Pond Partnership.

The morning was completed by a Q and A panel where the current threat to the Greenbelt was a key feature. The hall was buzzing throughout the morning and Betty Badger and her friend, Freddie Fox made lots of friends.

The WKBG would like to thank the many people who contributed to making this such an uplifting morning.
