Gary Cliffe, secretary for the West Kent Badger Group for many years, died on the 10th July. Gary was much more than our secretary (although that was a crucial role). He had years and years of experience working with wildlife, particularly badgers. He imparted his knowledge generously and in his later years, when his illness limited his mobility, he was incredibly encouraging when volunteers were venturing out to rescue an injured badger or to sett survey. Gary was always humble and constantly underplayed his expertise in the world of badgers and wildlife generally. We miss him.
